Frame Mexico City as a place to plan and independently evaluate cross-border care, not as an endorsement. Ask for a complete written plan in the traveller's language, itemised costs, clinician identity and credentials, consent information, after-hours contact and follow-up schedule. Explain that travellers should verify current facility authorisation with the appropriate Mexican health authority, professional credentials in the official registry and any international accreditation with its issuer; broker assurances are not independent verification. Cover secure records, prescriptions, interpretation, altitude and mobility questions to raise with a clinician, recovery accommodation close to the facility, companion support, insurance exclusions and fit-to-fly timing.
