Frequently asked questions

Is BABEL.TRAVEL cheaper than Hopper?
Searching, comparing prices, building itineraries and using Zapi AI on BABEL.TRAVEL is free; you book at the partner's price (airline or OTA) with no freeze fees or insurance upsells. Hopper's flight price is competitive but adds optional fees for price-freeze and protection products.

Can BABEL.TRAVEL freeze a flight price?
No — BABEL.TRAVEL doesn't sell price-freeze products and never adds fees on top of the partner price. Most airlines now offer a free 24-hour hold on direct bookings; Zapi can show you which airlines on your route do.
Which app has more languages: Hopper or BABEL.TRAVEL?
BABEL.TRAVEL works in 12 languages (English, Romanian, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Dutch, Polish, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Hindi, Chinese) — interface, AI assistant and SEO pages. Hopper is primarily English with a smaller set of localised regions.

Does BABEL.TRAVEL push insurance and add-ons like Hopper?
No. BABEL.TRAVEL never bundles paid add-ons on top of partner prices. Insurance, seat upgrades and extra bags are handled by the partner during checkout, the way you'd see them booking direct.
Do I need an account to use BABEL.TRAVEL?
No. You can search flights, hotels and activities, build a Zapi AI itinerary and join a YayOrNay group session without signup. An account is only required to save trips across devices, receive price-drop alerts or publish a blog post — signup is a passwordless email + OTP.
How does BABEL.TRAVEL make money if everything is free?
BABEL.TRAVEL earns an affiliate commission only when you book at a partner (Aviasales, Booking.com, Expedia, Hertz, GetYourGuide, etc.). The commission comes from the partner's margin — your price equals direct booking. No subscription, no Carrot Cash gimmicks, no insurance upsell.
Does BABEL.TRAVEL have a mobile app like Hopper?
BABEL.TRAVEL is a Progressive Web App — install it from your phone's browser (Add to Home Screen on iOS, Install on Android) and it works like a native app with offline itineraries and push notifications. Hopper is a traditional native iOS/Android app.
